There is always something to be grateful for; in fact, it is God's will that we give thanks no matter where we are in life or what we are going through.
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NLT)
If you belong to Jesus (Romans 8:9), then the Father wants you to continually give thanks. To give thanks is to be pleased and relieved. It is to be free from anxiousness or distress; it is to be grateful.
We can and should forever be grateful for that which Christ Jesus has done for us. Everything we are in Him and everything we have in Him is secure and cannot be changed. No matter what we are facing, we know for sure that we are right with God and heirs with Christ because of the sacrifice Jesus has made on our behalf.
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. (Ephesians 1:7, NLT)
Even if you couldn't find another thing to give thanks for, this is one that requires thanksgiving for all eternity. Today, remember to give thanks to the Lord. Acknowledge Him in everything you do and thank Him for His constant, steadfast hand in your life.
