Being a Christian doesn't make you immune to mistakes. At times your actions may fall short, but thanks be to God that He is just to forgive us and that our righteousness is based on who Christ is and what He has done on our behalf.
20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. (1 John 3:20-22, NLT )
As believers, we do not pursue sin or disobedience; however, God has made provisions for when we might stumble. The enemy would want us to stay in a place of guilt and condemnation because in this place we feel that we cannot draw close to God or that we can't ask the Lord for anything. Nevertheless, our confidence should be in the God we trust. When we really believe God is bigger than any mistakes we may have made, we will be confident enough to come to Him as child does to their Father. Their is enough power in the blood of Jesus to cover ALL your sin, past, present or future. Take assurance in the fact that the Father is faithful to accept Jesus' sacrifice on your behalf.
