His word amidst the storm

As believers we are called to walk by faith. Very often our circumstances can look bleak, or as if there is no hope. These are the very times in which we need to seek a word from the Lord, and hold on to that word.

In Acts 23, Paul the apostle found himself at the point of death. It seemed that he would not make it out of his situation alive, but then the Lord appeared to him and spoke.

11 That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.” (Acts 23:11, NLT)

The Lord did not tell Paul ‘how’ He would bring him out of his situation, but by giving Paul a promise that he still had work to do elsewhere, Paul now had hope for the future. His current circumstances were not his last.

Be encouraged today, even if your situation looks dire, one word from the Lord is enough to change everything.
